Hooks to pique customer interest

Post by labonno896 »

Include a hook in your opening statement to immediately capture the customer’s interest. This hook is usually related to the customer’s pain point, need, or current industry trend. For example: “We noticed that your company was facing challenges in [specific area], and we have been fortunate to help many similar businesses solve this problem.” or “We recently launched a service that can help companies reduce operating costs by an average of 20% over the next year.”

Ask questions and listen: understand needs and build trust
Asking effective questions is the key to shop successful sales. It can help you understand the customer's real needs and build trust.

Open-ended questions vs. closed-ended questions
Open-ended questions (e.g., “What is the biggest challenge you’re facing in [area] right now?”) encourage customers to elaborate and gain more information. Closed-ended questions (e.g., “Have you used [category of product]?”) are used to confirm specific information. When used together, they can be an effective way to guide the conversation.

Leading Questions
Use leading questions to steer the conversation in the direction you want it to go while making the customer feel like they are in control of the conversation. For example: “If there was a solution that could help you [solve your pain point], would you be interested?”
