The students from the Heidelberg University team, whom we sponsored, defended their title in the renowned iGEM competition - and won three more prizes. We are also proud and congratulate them!

Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center entered this project in the renowned iGEM competition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - again under the direction of Prof. Eils. The team won the "Grand Prize" in the Giant Jamboree, the main prize of the competition. They were also named winners in the "Best Software" and "Best Foundational Advance" categories - and also won the audience award. Some press articles even called for a nomination for the Nobel Prize, such as the FAZ .
