Adapting editorial content or creating ad-hoc content based on the most used device types means, today, being attentive and aware of users' needs and being able to offer them a better user experience.

Another new development that publishers should reflect on concerns the sources of armenia whatsapp resource information most appreciated by readers. On the one hand, we find the paper press which, as we have already anticipated, has suffered a sharp collapse from 2013 to today. On the other hand, we find social media which have gained space alongside TV and online information (websites) and which today represent 48% of the main sources that readers take into consideration. According to a recent report by the Permanent Observatory Ital Communications-Censis, in fact, fourteen million Italians use social networks as a source of information: approximately 31% (between 14 and 80 years old) use Facebook, 12.6% YouTube and 3% Twitter.

However, social media and digital media are a double-edged sword because they also allow the circulation of fake news.

Reliability first and foremost
Reliability is the fulcrum around which editorial content, both digital and analog, must revolve. According to the Reuters Institute report, the pandemic has highlighted the importance of reading reliable news and relying on authoritative sources . Reliability goes hand in hand with the quality of information. 86% of Italians believe that online news should be subjected to stricter controls, to guarantee the quality of information (Source: Osservatorio permanente Ital Communications-Censis).

In fact, 84% of Italians prefer to get information about a political event or news story from traditional information channels (e.g., paper and online newspapers, radio and TV), because they consider them more reliable sources and are certain that the news is the result of the work of journalists and professionals in the sector. On the contrary, they do not place the same trust in news spread through social media. (Source: Osservatorio permanente Ital Communications-Censis).

Publishers play a fundamental role in protecting readers. Their main objective, therefore, must be to offer informative content and valid tools and to be reliable sources capable of countering and refuting fake news.

Conclusion

A sector that sees the introduction of new formats, means of communication, behaviors and new needs of readers every day. The real great challenge for contemporary publishers consists, finally, in knowing how to grasp these changes in time and redesign their business strategies through data analysis.
